 Project Proposal Document

How we are presenting the Idea, and what is included in it

Scroll Down

Collectively we have decided to present our game's proposal document through the medium of a brochure. This brochure will contain:

  • Concept art of the character

  • A map of the game, pointing out the route from start to end

  • Information regarding the mechanics in our game

  • An explanation of what the art style will be for the game with examples

  • Links to our social media accounts

We decided to present the idea through a  brochure, as these are commonly found advertising nature reserves with points of interest. Jamie collected a bunch of brochures at his work, and we plan to work on it together, designing where things should go and what style the brochure should have. The concept art I have already produced will be placed into the brochure, as well as pixel art produced by Alex and research and information made by Bill.

To try and make the brochure eye-catching, I decided it would be best to have a real photo of the Boreal Forest on the front cover, so that the brochure looks realistic, and grabs people attention as they walk past it. I chose 8 different images which reflect different aspects of the game area and got others to vote on which seems the most interesting and reflects what the game is about with the highest amount of accuracy.

Five people reviewed the covers, what they liked most they rated 1, what they hated they rated 8. The cover with the lowest score reflected what people liked most. Collectively, the top left suggestion was the least well-received, as many thought its focus on mountains did not reflect what the game was about, and it was too zoomed out. The top right image was received fairly well, as many liked the depth of landscape and how it reflected the cool, isolated, environment of the Boreal Forest. The bottom right image was the most liked cover, as it was focused, close to the shore,  vibrant, and still. Since they are all royalty-free images, we will be able to use the bottom right image as our cover.

Besides this, Jamie and I also planned out the brochure, found out how much it would cost to print the number of copies we need and have begun to work on its design. More information will follow as progress is made.
